The cabernet sauvignon and merlot fruit for this wine was harvested from our family-owned vineyards in the renowned Yarra Valley. It was picked at optimal ripeness, and fermented in traditional open fermenters. Once fermentation was complete, this wine was blended post-press and allowed to undergo malo-lactic fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels and temperature- controlled stainless steel tanks.
The 2010 Huma Yarra Valley Cabernet Merlot is overflowing with classic varietal characters - blackcurrant, chocolate and spicy oak. Soft tannins and balanced acidity give a supple, lingering finish to this exceptionally drinkable wine.
Examples include traditional roast beef or lamb, tomato–based pasta dishes, rich winter casseroles, barbeques, or a selection of cheeses.
